想配置网络服务方面的。但是/etc/xinetd.conf怎么都找不到，Google了昨天一天时间都没发现和我情况一样的。

/etc/xinetd.d这个文件夹存在，里面有cvs  eklogin  ekrb5-telnet  gssftp  klogin  krb5-telnet  kshell  rsync这些档。

但是就是没有/etc/xinetd.conf这个档，哪位熟悉xinetd这个deamon的兄弟告知一下原因？谢谢了



启动xinetd提示：

[root@localhost /]# service xinetd start
xinetd: unrecognized service

用locate查找xinetd结果：

可能你的xinetd 没有安装.

没安装的话会有xinetd.d这个文件夹吗？还有，这个套件不是系统安装时自带的吗？？

yum install xientd

没有装的话是有那个目录，但没有配置文件的的！

况且xinetd.conf 也不在xinetd.d目录下！

yum install xinetd执行后最后的提示：
[root@localhost ~]# yum install xinetd

要怎么样才能装上呢。我下载了源码的解压编译安装，但是安装之后还是老样子？

我安装了xinetd-2.3.13-4.src.rpm这个RPM。安装之后怎么还是没有xinetd这个服务呢，service xinetd start就提示没有这个服务，/etc/init.d/xinetd start也不行，也提示没有这个文件

直接xinetd start行么？

找一下xinetd的启动脚本，然后cp到/etc/rc.d/rc*.d里面

回楼上2位兄弟的。直接xinetd start不行。

现在情况是这样了：我下载了xinetd的tar套，然后./configure   make   make install,再CP到/etc/init.d

我用/etc/init.d/xinetd start 就提示：

sbin/xinetd start
Usage: xinetd [-d] [-f config_file] [-filelog filename] [-syslog facility] [-reuse] [-limit proc_limit] [-pidfile filename] [-logprocs limit] [-shutdownprocs limit] [-cc interval]

意识创建配置文件，日志文件位置这些意思。根本还是没有启动xinetd.用ps -ef |grep xinetd也没有
service xinetd start是和上面一样的提示。chkconfig xinetd on提示这个服务不支持chkconfig
