欢迎来到本年度第13期的DWN，一份为Debian用户和开发者准备的社区资料和电子杂志。JamesTroup宣布又有两个开发者加入了ftpmaster组，主要为了个别特殊包的发行。 Rob Bradford宣布将在不久渐渐的成立一个英国debian理事会，主要来处理有关UK地区的捐赠活动。
Debian-Installer RC3发布：Joey Hess宣布debian-installer RC3发布了，这个版本的最大的变化是为各个内核版本的程序都升级了为数不少的安全补丁，还有就是分区工作也得到了改善，可以用来更好的兼容其它操作系统。
新的邮件列表的创建：Pascal Hakim宣布了一系列的新的邮件列表的建立。包括有三个用于本地化进程的邮件列表：阿拉伯语、智利语和朝鲜语，同样还有两个用于基础建设的邮件列表：debian-testing-changes将用于显示测试发行版的变更情况；debian-dak将用于讨论有关dak和buildd相关组件的问题。
选举资源：David Schmitt发布了一些2005年度Debian项目领导人候选人就有关问题QA的总结。Thaddeus H. Black同样也安装时间顺序将候选人们的辩论记录提炼成一个没有改变语义的副本，主要通过问题、候选人的回答及相关讨论和辩论的顺序组织。
有关libtool 1.4的构建依赖：Andrew Pwllock提醒到，到目前为止还有5个软件包在构建的时候需要依赖libtool 1.4，而这个包已经是孤儿软件包，即将删除。Frank Lichtenheld提议的有关针对需要升级libtool1.4到libtool1.5的软件开启bug报告，被认为是个不错的想法，Henrique de Moraes Holschuh同样提议强制在这些软件构建时使用新的libtool、autoconf和gettext工具等。
软件质量黑客会议：Luk Claes提议在Helsinki举行Debian Conference之前，举行一个官方的QA软件黑客工作营会，用一个晚上的时候聚全体的力量来修复有关lintian和linda的bug，从文件归档中移除那些过时的软件包，清理有关WNPP页面，修复有关质量保证组中的维护的软件包的bug，同样还有质量保证组中其他问题。
结束一个国外的ITP：Shcchar Shemesh提到一个有关Open Xchange的ITP似乎好久没有进展，他想知道具体怎么做，因为他有制作一个软件包，Matthew Palmer建议他在bug报告中增加一个说明，然后再将相关的制作好的软件包上传上去。
包描述的拼写纠正：Florian Zumbiehl提到了程序人员在包相关描述中的另外一个普遍问题，他列出了一个单词表，其中包含了大多数的首字母缩略字，比如a和an经常用错。Joey Hess指出像FAQ这样的缩略字是有歧义的，因为他们的发音没有明确的规定。
PHP及其后续工作：PHP授权已经被认为是可以进行后续的二次开发的。Francesco Poli指出PHP3是一个有着双重授权身份的软件，其中之一是GNU GPL。但是在PHP4的授权中规定在PHP4的后续二次开发中，不可以称为PHP或者包含PHP字样。Andi Gutmans解释到，为它做点安全补丁和一些小细节的修改应该是没有问题的，因为相关授权情况下的Apache没有出现什么授权纠纷。
CD/DVD镜像发布过程：Steve mcIntyre 发布了一系列CD工作组有关的发布进程总结。自从cdimage.debian.org的磁盘空间升级后，这个站点可以维护全系列的woody和sarge光盘保持一段时间。但是因为一个纯粹的二进制的sarge 就要超过一张DVD的容量，而且每个系统架构就有一个版本，所以在发布相关下载的时候，文件列表中就包括torrent文件和jigdo文件。
再创新低的投票率：在第二轮的Debian项目负责人竞选号召投票后，Manoj Srivastava报告说，我们目前得到了自从开始投票率统计以来最低的投票率。在一个采访中他提到，这大概是因为在Social contract改变后一些开发者感到希望破灭，特别是在AMD64和Vancouver Prospectus这两个问题上。
Hurd/L4项目中的Marcus Brinkmann：在一个采访中，Marcus Brinkmann解释道，Hurd和Mach 微内核的结合将会被放弃，因为他们的内存管理实在是太糟糕了。取而代之的是将Hurd移植到L4微内核，目前这个项目的进度还可以，已经可以在该内核的系统中运行程序了，这个采访还就其他问题同样给出了大量的内部消息。
